I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in NEWARK DE where I ate at Holiday Inn Newark (Wilmington Area), De and I came across an interesting piece on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some other interesting details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
