I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in NEW YORK NY where I ate at Fresh End Quick Deli & Grocery and I read a really interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I should admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I found out some interesting details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
