I travel a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in NEW ROADS LA where I ate at Daiquiri Station and I came across a new cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple items of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found out some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
