I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in NEW ORLEANS LA where I ate at The Crescent On Canal and I read a really interesting article to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought some items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I found some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
