I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in NEW KENSINGTON PA where I ate at Down Under Steakhouse and I read a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
