I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in NAPLES FL where I ate at Kash-N-Karry 1906 and I came across an interesting piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got some pieces of clothing.
I must say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some other interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
