I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in NAPLES FL where I ate at Thai Basil Inc and I came across a new cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.

I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some other incredible details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
