I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in NAPERVILLE IL where I ate at Little Italian Route 59 and I came across a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I discovered some interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
