I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in NAPERVILLE IL where I ate at Cooperstowne Pizza and I came across an interesting article on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
