I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in MURFREESBORO TN where I ate at Camino Real and I read a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought some basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some other interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
