I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in MOUNTAIN GROVE MO where I ate at Sam's Restaurant and I read a new piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I must admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found some incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
