I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in MOUNT PROSPECT IL where I ate at Jaded Thai Restaurant and I came across an interesting article to do with bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I must tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
