I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in MOUNT DORA FL where I ate at Lakeside Inn and I came across a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I must say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I found some amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
