I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in MOREHEAD CITY NC where I ate at CAPT Bills Waterfront Restaurant and I came across an interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I discovered some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
