I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in MONTAUK NY where I ate at Surfside Inn Hotel and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

Bamboo Clothing MONTAUK

After a bit more research I found some amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
