I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in MONTANA CITY MT where I ate at Elkhorn Mountain Inn (Ip) and I came across an interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found some amazing facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
