I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in MOLINE IL where I ate at Maid-Rite and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I found out some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
