I travel a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in MODESTO CA where I ate at A Su Casa Catering & Meat Market and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I must say I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I found some other incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
