I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MOBILE AL where I ate at Guesthouse Inn - Mobile and I saw a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some more incredible details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
