I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in MOBERLY MO where I ate at C C Sawyers Restaurant & Lounge and I came across a new cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased some basic items of clothing.

I have to admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I found some other incredible facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
