I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in MINNEAPOLIS MN where I ate at Sri-Lanka Curry House and I came across a new article on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found out some more incredible details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
