I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in MIDLOTHIAN IL where I ate at Hound Dogs and I saw an interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some other amazing facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
