I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MIAMI FL where I ate at Piccola Italia and I came across an interesting article about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found some other amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
