I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MIAMI BEACH FL where I ate at Heritage Cafe & Restaurant and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I should say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found some interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
