I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MIAMI BEACH FL where I ate at Gilberts Deli and Grocery and I read an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a little more research I found some more amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
