I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MIAMI BEACH FL where I ate at Cafe Art Restaurant & Bar and I read a new piece on bamboo. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I must admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
