I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in MEXICO MO where I ate at Sliders Bar & Grill and I read a new piece about bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought some pieces of clothing.

I have to admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found out some more amazing details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
