I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in MESA AZ where I ate at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Phoenix-Mesa/ and I read an interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a few basic items of clothing.
I should say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some amazing facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
