I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MERKEL TX where I ate at Big Country Truck Stop Restaurant and I saw a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found out some other interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
