I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in MENOMONIE WI where I ate at Brad's Blue Diamond and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I discovered some other incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
