I travel a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MEMPHIS MO where I ate at Kellys Kitchen and I read an interesting article on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After some more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
