I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in MEDFORD NJ where I ate at Tarantella Restaurant and I read a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I discovered some more amazing details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
