I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MATHIS TX where I ate at 534 Mesquite Inn Bar & Restaurant and I read an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
