I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in MARION NC where I ate at 1 China and I saw a new article on bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I found out some other interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
