I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in MARION NC where I ate at 1 China and I saw an interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I should tell you I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I discovered some amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
