I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in MARIETTA GA where I ate at Waffle House Inc - Northeast and I read an interesting article to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found some interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
