I move around a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in MARIETTA GA where I ate at Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant and I read an interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found some other interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
