I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in MANKATO MN where I ate at Country Pubs Wine Cafe and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I should say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I found out some other amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
