I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in MALVERN PA where I ate at Alley Pub and I saw a new cover story about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found some more amazing facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
