I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MADISON WI where I ate at Wongs Garden and I read a new article about bamboo. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I should say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I discovered some other incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
