I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in MADISON WI where I ate at Babes Grill & Bar and I read a new article to do with bamboo. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a few items of clothing.
I must tell you I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found out some amazing details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
