I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in MACON GA where I ate at Five Eighty and I came across a really interesting piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found some incredible facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
