I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in MACEDONIA OH where I ate at Fratellis Subs and I read a really interesting piece about bamboo. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
