I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in LUBBOCK TX where I ate at Cactus Alley - LA Cumbre Restaurant and I came across a new piece about bamboo. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a good option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some other amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
