I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner alone in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in LOMBARD IL where I ate at LA Taqueria Dos Inc and I saw a new cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought some basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I discovered some other amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
