I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in LITTLE ROCK AR where I ate at Fantastic China and I came across a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
