I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in LITTLE ROCK AR where I ate at Statehouse Cafeteria and I read an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some more incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
