I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in LINTHICUM HEIGHTS MD where I ate at Howard Subway Inc and I saw a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I found out some incredible facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
