I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in LINCOLN PARK NJ where I ate at Mahal of India Restaurant and I read an interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found some more amazing details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
