I travel a lot for my work and so often end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in LINCOLN PARK MI where I ate at Hong Kong Inn and I saw a new piece on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I found out some more incredible details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
